Lexington, MA – Governor Maura Healey has awarded $500,000 in so-called “environmental justice grants” to a slate of progressive organizations, including $56,000 to Arise for Social Justice—a radical group that openly promotes hate and division on social media.
Arise for Social Justice has shared a series of disturbing posts that include:
- “Thank you Luigi Mangione! These murderous for-profit insurance companies that make money by denying sick people life-saving treatment have no place in a decent society. We need to remove the profit incentive entirely from health care & establish a nationalized health care system.”
- “IN THIS HOUSE, WE BELIEVE ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS LANDLORDS ARE PARASITES THERE ARE NO GOOD BILLIONAIRES WAR IS A RACKET MONEY IS FAKE SOLIDARITY IS EVERYTHING”
- “‘landlord’ and ‘landlady’ are needlessly gendered words. pls be more inclusive by using ‘landbastard’ instead”
Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Kennealy expressed deep outrage over the governor’s decision to fund such a group with taxpayer dollars.
“It is truly shocking that even a single cent of taxpayer money is being funneled to an extremist group that spreads hatred. This organization has openly praised Luigi Mangione, accused of the assassination of a CEO, and has shown blatant contempt for law enforcement and landlords. Newsflash, Governor Healey: police officers and landlords are taxpayers too—and their hard-earned dollars are now supporting a group that openly despises their existence. This is not just irresponsible—it’s appalling. Governor Healey must answer for why she is using public funds to legitimize and empower those who are actively sowing division and hate across the Commonwealth.”
Kennealy added, “As Governor, I will ensure public funds are never used to legitimize extremism or reward organizations that promote hate, violence, or division. Massachusetts families deserve a leader who will defend our values—not subsidize their destruction.”
