Waltham, MA – Today, the Attorney General announced that she is suing nine municipalities for not being in compliance with the MBTA Communities Act.
Leading Republican Gubernatorial candidate Mike Kennealy expressed outrage by the AG’s actions stating,
“State government railroading municipalities while simultaneously underfunding them is absolutely ridiculous and not the way we do things in Massachusetts. This is absolutely unacceptable. The Attorney General and Governor Healey have completely weaponized the MBTA Communities Act against our cities and towns. It still shocks me to this day that my primary opponent, Brian Shortsleeve, is one of AG Campbell’s top donors.
When I’m Governor, the threats and lawsuits end. It’s time we start working with our cities and towns to build the type of housing they want.”
