Waltham, MA – Today, Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka equated America today to the Holocaust and law enforcement professionals to Nazis. Leading Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Kennealy condemned the remarks in the strongest terms, calling them reckless, offensive, and deeply inappropriate.

“This kind of rhetoric, equating federal law enforcement with Nazi Germany, is appalling and dangerous. It serves only to inflame division, distort reality, and undermine serious public discourse. Disagreement over immigration policy does not justify invoking the horrors of the Holocaust and the millions who died in that genocide, or vilifying those tasked with enforcing our laws. These comparisons are not only morally irresponsible, they are offensive to the memory of those who suffered under true tyranny. Senate President Spilka should retract these remarks immediately and apologize.”
