The Massachusetts Mass Exodus Continues Under Gov. Healey’s Policies

“The mass exodus of families leaving Massachusetts isn’t just sad to see – it’s unsustainable.”

Waltham, MA – According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Massachusetts lost 33,340 more residents to other states than it gained during a year-span ending July 1, 2025. Citizens are voting with their feet as they grapple with the consequences of Governor Healey’s policies that continue to drive up the cost of living in the Commonwealth.

Leading Gubernatorial candidate, Mike Kennealy expressed his concern over the recent statistic stating,

“The mass exodus of families leaving Massachusetts isn’t just sad to see – it’s unsustainable.

The Healey Administration has created an affordability crisis in Massachusetts. Costs keep climbing, people are being priced out, and if we don’t change course now, we risk reaching a point of no return.

Here’s the truth: When government spends too much, taxes too much, and regulates too much, you pay the price. Businesses pass the costs down, families get squeezed, and the Commonwealth becomes a place people feel forced to leave – not a place they can build a future.

I helped lead a booming economy as Secretary of Housing & Economic Development in the Baker Administration. I know how to get Massachusetts growing again – with lower taxes, less bureaucracy, and a focus on affordability for working families.

We can make Massachusetts a place where people want to live again – where families can plant roots, thrive, and stay.

And that’s exactly what I intend to do as your next Governor.”
