Waltham, MA – A newly released UMass poll confirms what Republicans across Massachusetts are already seeing on the ground: Mike Kennealy is the clear frontrunner in the Republican gubernatorial primary. According to the poll, 44% of GOP primary voters say they would vote for Kennealy if the primary were held today – nearly doubling the support of both of his primary opponents, who sit at just 13% each.
This commanding lead reflects the growing momentum behind Kennealy’s campaign and the strength of his connection with voters across the Commonwealth.
Campaign Manager Ben Hincher highlighted the significance of the poll, stating:
“This poll confirms what we have been hearing in every corner of the Commonwealth: voters recognize that Mike Kennealy is the only candidate prepared to take on Maura Healey in 2026 and deliver real results. Mike will lower energy costs for Massachusetts families, cut taxes and burdensome regulations, audit the legislature, end sanctuary state policies, restore excellence in our schools, and return common sense to state government.”
Mike Kennealy offered the following remarks on the poll results:
“Voters understand what is at stake – affordability, a return to common sense, and strong leadership. Their trust in me to lead Massachusetts forward is humbling and energizing.”
The Kennealy campaign continues its statewide tour with public events scheduled in communities across Massachusetts in the coming weeks.
